My client are a global services business with a strong market reputation for excellence. They are now seeking a procurement professional to manage some of their most demanding categories and stakeholder groups within marketing.
This is a great opportunity for a procurement professional who is looking for the next step to have true autonomy in leading a major directs category. You will manage across the procurement process from strategic sourcing through to vendor management across a range of complex categories including market research (both primary and secondary) debt collection and other business services. Suppliers are based inter-state so they will be travel with this role in order to maintain excellent stakeholder and supplier relations. You will lead cross-functional strategic sourcing teams in strategizing on how best to lead key categories and you will be accountable for the delivery of sourcing activity which includes detailed analysis and synthesis of internal requirements for particularly complex goods and services.
You will be an individual who revels in a highly structured and process-oriented procurement environment and love the cut and thrust of being part of a 40 strong team of strategic procurement professionals.
The following experience and skills are imperative in order to be a success in this role:
- At least 5 years in a senior sourcing role; where you have had accountability for delivering against cost-saving KPIs whilst building long-term and strategic relationships with both stakeholders and suppliers.
- An in-depth understanding of indirects category management – ideally with some exposure to marketing categories.
- You will have a very strong understanding of the imperative steps within the strategic sourcing process as well as tender management
- You will revel in a challenging, fast-paced role with demanding stakeholder groups.
- Personality and emotional intelligence are critical to this role; you will be a confident and direct communicator and you will have a very resilient style in your approach to your work.
- You will pride yourself on your ability to influence and guide even the most resistant stakeholder groups and you will have the patience and perseverance to really understand the stakeholder’s drivers and how best procurement can complement their goals.
