This is a great opportunity for a procurement professional who is looking for the next step to have true autonomy in leading a major directs category. You will manage across the procurement process from strategic sourcing through to vendor management across a range of complex categories including fibre optic networks and cables, mobile towers, cable accessories, test equipment and technician consumables. Stakeholders are based inter-state and there are some suppliers based internationally so they will be travel with this role to maintain excellent stakeholder and supplier relations. You will lead cross-functional strategic sourcing teams in sourcing network critical products and you will be accountable for the delivery of sourcing activity which includes detailed analysis and synthesis of internal requirements for particularly complex goods and services.
You will be an individual who revels in a highly structured and process-oriented procurement environment and love the cut and thrust of being part of a 40 strong team of strategic procurement professionals.
The following experience and skills are imperative in order to be a success in this role:
- At least 5 years in a senior sourcing role; where you have had accountability for delivering against cost-saving KPIs whilst building long-term and strategic relationships with both stakeholders and suppliers.
- Some exposure and interest in technical directs categories ideally from within telecoms or utilities and exposure to categories where you are liaising directly with engineers is also highly desirable.
- You will have a very strong understanding of the imperative steps within the strategic sourcing process as well as tender management.
- You will revel in a challenging, fast-paced role with demanding stakeholder groups.
- Personality and emotional intelligence are critical to this role; you will be a confident and direct communicator and you will have a very resilient style to your work.
