Our Client

This global manufacturer of medical equipment has a long history of developing both innovative and reliable products. Their portfolio of equipment ranges from Endoscopy and consumable products through to a range of orthopaedic implants and fixation devices. Although the majority of their manufacturing is done off shore it is all done in house, in either Europe or the US which ensures that they can fully endorse and guarantee their range. Here in Australia they have had a presence for over 25 years and in that time have built up a cult like following, amongst surgeons in particular, which has already given them a high percentage of market share across their ranges. This business has a training budget for everyone from MD through to receptionist, given the MD started as a storeman, this business demonstrates that once you are in the door anything is possible.

The Vacant Position

We are currently looking for an Operations Manager to manage their customer service team and their kit room. The kit room is responsible for preparing and making medical kits used in surgery by orthopaedic surgeons and include a range of devices consumable and implants. Half of this role will be people management and development, making the customer service and kit rooms perform consistently to the defined targets. The other half of the role will be to closely align yourself with your customer base to make sure continual improvement measures can be implemented. You will be managing a team of seven people and will see you being groomed for your managers role in a clear succession plan.

Experience Required:

For your application to be successful you will need to be commercially astute professional that is used to working in a highly regulated environment. You will have held a people management position in the supply chain / customer service arena and be comfortable in leading and developing a team. You will need to have a high attention to detail and be an outgoing team player who can interact with sales regularly as easily as hospital staff when you get out on site.
