As a result of an internal promotion, an opportunity exists for an experienced leader to champion the ongoing development and delivery of a safety management system.

Reporting to the Director of HR and based in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth, the National Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager is responsible for driving the achievement of goals and objectives aimed at improving safety performance. The role has a strong presence at Executive Leadership level with an advisory and educational focus. With accountability for a team of four direct reports, the position coaches, mentors and supports the team in building a positive safety culture. Key accountabilities include overseeing the maintenance of certification standards (18001 & 4801), Workers Compensation portfolio management as well as project management at organisation-wide level.

To be successful in this position you should bring a demonstrated ability to lead cultural change in a large, multi-site operation. With technical expertise in Health and Safety as well as proven people management ability, you will successfully engage and influence people at all levels of the business. Given that large proportion of the work force operates in a relatively low-risk operation, it is important that you have an appreciation for the challenges associated with driving change in this environment.
