The Company
Working for one of Sydney’s leading Equal Opportunity Employers in the transport industry you will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of workplace injury management legislative and regulatory requirements, and the development of initiatives to facilitate injury management.
Reporting directly to the Employee Services Manager Human Resources, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving the work being performed by 15-20 staff in accordance with a Return to Work Plan although the company has a compliment of 600 staff.
This client is looking for someone who has a deep understanding of equal employment opportunity, occupational health and safety, and ethical practice. You must be someone who can lead by example and are confident in dealing with injury claims of all levels.
The Role
1. Advice – Provide advice to management on injury management and employee health and wellness.
2. Consultation with Injured Employees – explaining the injury management and workers compensation process
3. Return to Work Plan Development – Develop the Return to Work Plan in consultation with the injured employee and relevant parties.
4. Injury Management Coordination – Confer with and coordinate advice and information between multiple parties in injury management.
5. Workplace Assessment – Regularly inspecting work sites.
6. Grievance Investigations – Provide information, advice and assistance to parties on grievance policy and procedures.
7. Records & Reporting – Maintaining confidential records of injury management cases and reporting monthly to the Director Human Resources in a timely, accurate and up to date manner.

The person
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource management, occupational health and safety or a related discipline or equivalent experience
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of legislation and best practice in injury management and rehabilitation.
- Ability to build and maintain trust and credibility with operational staff and managers and union representatives.
- Must be a competent health practitioner and have experience in return to work and rehab.
