Our client is an International Manufacturer in a variety of Industries including Mining, Rail & Industrial. They are one of Australia's largest players in the global market with over 4,000 people and operate a vast number of manufacturing and service facilities.

The Role

The Senior Design Engineer will lead and develop the product development group under the direction of the Product Development Manager. You will supervise a team of engineers and product designers and check and approve engineering drawings and technical documents. Design verification of new & existing products while liaising with customers, suppliers, research bodies and manufacturing plants.

Responsibilities

• Develop new & innovative products and support services in order to assist in achieving yearly budget sales
• Ensure a safe working environment in accordance with H&S regulations
• Provide technical support through mine site visits with Regional Sales Managers
• Conduct presentations &, assess and identify appropriate solutions of a technical nature
• Research & investigate the use of new technologies and software
• Provide leadership to the team through the transfer of knowledge, training and support

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
• 10 years experience in engineering/design and manufacture
• Extensive knowledge in metallurgy in mineral processing, manufacture and technical product support of Mill & Crusher consumables and equipment
• 3D CAD/CAE
• Design project management
